Trujillo Villas España – Villa Martires and Piedras Albas featured in Daily Mail
We are delighted to announce Villa Martires and Villa Piedras Albas have both been featured in the Daily Mail’s Travelmail section, as well as our full range of luxury villas to rent in Spain. They have also been featured on the Daily Mail’s travel section of their website. Alice-Azania Jarvis writes of Villa Martires:
‘I am staying at Villa Martires at the town’s summit. Its foundations were laid in Roman times, and during the 12th century it acted as a garrison to the town’s castle. Its granite walls have special significance – Trujillo was founded in prehistoric times on a granite batholith. Martires is one of six properties for rent across Trujillo through the company Trujillo Villas Espana. The most spectacular, Villa Piedras Albas, a grand palacio on the town square, was home to some of Spain’s most distinguished families in the 16th century.’
Of Trujillo’s many wonderful and delicious local delicacies, Alice-Azania Jarvis mentions:
‘The local ham, pata negra, is made from the black pigs that live in the surrounding acorn forests. It’s a siren call to foodies. Then there is the chorizo, the manchego (Trujillo hosts Spain’s prestigious National Cheese Fair every spring), olive oil and, white asparagus.’
