Extremadura Listed Under 20 Amazing Secret Places in Spain
This month, Extremadura has been highlighted in the Telegraph's latest feature entitled 20 Amazing Places in Spain that the British Haven't Discovered Yet. Listed third is Extremadura - the south-western region of Spain that is famous for its unspoilt landscape and rustic Iberian charm that can't be found anywhere else.
Indeed, anyone looking for an authentic Spanish holiday would be hard pressed to find a better destination.
The feature in the Telegraph highlights Anthony Peregrine's visit to Trujillo previously. Stating:
"We drove through the dehesa lands of holm oaks whose acorns feed the pigs that feed the world Ibérico hams. Gradually, the countryside grew loftier and greener and we were curving up to Guadalupe, a fine monastery trimmed with a hillside village. We were soon among more beauty than I could readily assimilate."

Trujillo, centrally located in Extremadura, is the perfect base to explore the region. Not only is it easy to reach the region's most popular sights, it's also a stunning location to stay at itself.
Famed for its unspoilt views of the dehesa woods reaching all the way to the Portuguese border, Trujillo sits atop a hill and is crowned with Trujillo Castle - most recently featured in HBO's hit TV series Game of Thrones.
