The Palacio de Piedras Albas is one of Trujillo’s most unique historic landmarks. Built in 1530, this very special private villa is located directly on the main square offering spectacular views of the town from its incredible Florentine style arched loggia which is designed as an al-fresco dining terrace.
There is no better place to watch the world go by with a coffee or glass of wine!
Trujillo is a small town and the main square has modist levels of tourists and a safe, very relaxed atmosphere. Unlike other European towns there aren’t street sellers, overcrowding or annoyances. Villa Piedras Albas is conveniently located near the restaurants and amenities offering a unique spot right in town. Despite its position on the main square, the ample accommodation throughout the house extends far back, offering plenty of wonderful living spaces, gardens, a pretty pavilion and a perfectly peaceful location for a holiday.
The house has grand unusual interiors, outstanding stonework and finely carved wooden beamed ceilings. There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms upstairs with French doors overlooking the remarkable main square, views, rooftops and gardens. There are a further 2 bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs, ideal for teenagers.
The living rooms offer magnificent historical spaces with spacious indoor and outdoor dining areas and separate TV room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dining table, electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee filter machine and washing machine.
Outside is an oasis of absolute peace and quiet, in the private beautiful walled rose garden lined with lemon trees leading through to a lovely private swimming pool, (8m x 5m), securely enclosed, surrounded by sunbathing areas. Please note the garden and swimming pool are exclusive to the property, ie no sharing with other guests.
The garden also has a covered pavilion with dining table and chairs, a gas Weber BBQ, rattan sunloungers and garden furniture.
There is no aircon at the property but all bedrooms have free standing fans.
There is free on-street parking nearby, one road behind the property. The main square is pedestrianised at weekends.
Must-see events hosted in the main square, exclusively viewed and accessed from the house include: Medieval Market (March), Easter processions and folkloric dancing (March/April), Cheese Festival (May), Liberation Day “Salve” Festival (September).
Guest wifi, housekeeping and gardener service three times a week is included. A bottle of wine is provided to welcome you, including meet & greet service in English. A home cooked villa menu is available on request.
The kitchen is fully equipped including fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric hob and oven, microwave, filter coffee machine and cafetiere.
Smaller parties are welcome and discounted stays are available subject to availability. Changeover days are flexible.
